中國有關部門下午召見谷歌中國網站負責人，對網站大量傳播淫穢色情內容進行談話。
部門宣布對谷歌中國網站的處罰措施：暫停該網站境外網頁搜索業務和聯想詞搜索業務，並責令其立即進行整改，徹底清理淫穢色情和低俗內容。
內地有關部門將根據谷歌中國（google.cn）網站的整改情況，決定下一步的處理措施。
國家有關部門在執法談話中嚴肅指出谷歌中國網站存在的問題，要求谷歌中國網站認真遵守國家的法律法規，切實履行社會責任，採取切實有效的技術和管理措施，嚴格按照中國法律法規的要求做好淫穢色情內容過濾工作，防止境外互聯網上的淫穢色情信息通過該網站傳播到中國境內。
中通社稱，谷歌中國網站負責人承認該網站大量傳播淫穢色情和低俗信息，嚴重違反了國家有關法律法規，嚴重侵害了青少年身心健康，就此事向公眾道歉。負責人表示，將嚴格按照政府執法部門的要求進行整改，及時將整改情況報告有關部門。
